ABSTRACT There is described an improved submersible cage system for cultivating aquatic animals comprising a rigid frame, a net supported by the frame to define a water permeable enclosure for the aquatic animals, a mechanism for rotatably supporting the rigid frame in a fully or partially submerged condition, and means for anchoring the frame in a fixed position in a marine environment, wherein the rigid frame defines a geodesic sphere.
