A side plow assembly for attaching to a motor vehicle. The side plow assembly comprises of a blade for plowing, a front plate connected to the vehicle, and a turntable for coupling the blade to the front plate. A displacement mechanism rotates the turntable about a pivot point, thereby displacing the blade between a horizontal plowing position and a vertical storage position. A rod is coupled at a first end to a distal end of the blade and at a second end to the plow. The rod maintains the blade in a predetermined position when the blade extends laterally from the vehicle.
