The invention is a refastenable mechanical fastening system, made of free-formed prongs joined to an embossed or raised substrate (24). The prongs (22) taper and are nonperpendicularly oriented relative to the plane of the substrate. Each prong (22) has an engaging means (30) projecting laterally from the periphery of the prong. The free formed prongs (22) are manufactured by the process of depositing liquid material onto the embossed or raised portion (23) of a moving substrate (24), stretching the liquid material in a direction parallel to the plane of the embossed or raised substrate and severing the stretched material to form the distal end and engaging means of the prong. The advantageous usage of the fastening system in an article of manufacture, such as a disposable absorbent garment, specifically a diaper, is also disclosed.
La présente invention a pour objet un dispositif de retenue mécanique comportant des griffes à structure non figée qui sont fixées à un substrat (24) présentant une surface en relief. Les griffes (22), de forme conique et non orientées perpendiculairement au plan du substrat. Chaque griffe (22) comporte une extrémité servant aux fins accrochage (30) en prolongement latéral de la périphérie de la griffe. Les griffes à structure non figée (22) sont fabriquées par dépôt de matière liquide sur les parties relevées (23) de la surface en relief d'un substrat en défilement; la matière liquide est ensuite étirée dans une direction parallèle au plan du substrat à surface en relief avant d'être coupée pour former une extrémité distale servant aux fins d'accrochage. Une application où le dispositif de retenue est avantageusement utilisé, pour la fixation d'articles absorbants, par exemple, et plus précisément les couches de bébé, est également dévoilée.
