The present invention relates to a substrate-supported process for continuous and automated manufacturing of microfibrous fuel cells and other electrochemical devices. Specifically, a removable substrate layer (92) is formed around an inner current collector (82), followed by sequentially coating multiple structure layers, such as the inner catalyst layer (102), the membrane separator (112), and the outer catalyst layer (122), over such removable substrate layer (92), and subsequent removing such removable layer (92), so as to form a lumen (91) around the inner current collector (82), to allow passage of fluid therethrough. The removable substrate layer (92) preferably comprises a water-soluble polymer, such as polyvinyl pyrrolidone (PVP), polyvinyl alcohol (PVA), or polyethylene glycol (PEG).
La présente invention concerne un procédé sur substrat permettant de fabriquer de manière continue et automatique des piles à combustible microfibreuses et d'autres dispositifs électrochimiques. Ce procédé consiste, plus spécifiquement, à former une couche substrat amovible (92) autour d'un collecteur (82) de courant interne, puis à recouvrir de manière séquentielle de multiples couches structurelles, telle que la couche catalyseur interne (102), le séparateur (112) de membrane, et la couche catalyseur externe (122), sur ladite couche substrat amovible (92), et à retirer ensuite ladite couche amovible (92), de manière à former une lumière (91) autour du collecteur (82) de courant interne, afin de permettre le passage du fluide à travers celui-ci. La couche substrat amovible (92) comprend, de préférence, un polymère soluble dans l'eau, par exemple un pyrrolidone de polyvinyle (PVP), un polyalcool de vinyle (PVA), ou du polyéthylène glycol (PEG).
