The composition comprises either but preferably both of two components produced by a culture of the organism. The culture is treated to kill the organisms prior to use, preferably by treatment with formalin after the components have been produced. One of the components, only produced when the culture is grown under iron limiting conditions, induces production of antibodies which cause death of the organisms when injected intraperitoneally into fish.
