A method for manufacturing ionic liquid compositions by use of a two-step process which includes the contacting, under first reaction conditions, an mine compound with a hydrogen halide that is preferably in the gaseous form to provide a first reaction mixture. The first reaction mixture is then contacted, under second reaction conditions, with a metal halide compound to form the ionic liquid end-product.

La présente invention concerne un procédé de fabrication de compositions liquides ioniques, comprenant deux étapes. Un composé aminé est mis en contact, sous des premières conditions de réaction, avec un halogénure d'hydrogène se trouvant de préférence dans son état gazeux afin de produire un premier mélange de réaction. Ce premier mélange de réaction est ensuite mis en contact, sous des deuxièmes conditions de réaction, avec un composé de halogénure métallisé afin d'obtenir le produit liquide ionique final.
