The novel adhesives of this invention contain a blend of components that result in the adhesive having a physical property that changes at a controlled rate as a function of time after application until it reaches a final equilibrium value. The adhesives can contain a thermoplastic polymer base, a tackifying resin, and an aromatic plasticizer optionally in combination with other ingredients. The plasticizer tackifier combination is chosen such that the tackifier/plasticizer interaction causes the initial value of the physical property after application to change, at a controlled rate, to a final equilibrium level.
Les nouveaux adhésifs de l'invention renferment un mélange de constituants, qui donne un adhésif possédant, après application, une propriété physique qui varie de façon régulière en fonction du temps, jusqu'à ce qu'elle atteigne une valeur finale d'équilibre. Ces adhésifs peuvent renfermer une base polymérique thermoplastique, une résine collante et un plastifiant aromatique, en combinaison, facultativement, avec d'autres ingrédients. La combinaison collant/plastifiant est choisie de telle façon que l'interaction collant/plastifiant modifie, après application, la valeur initiale de la propriété physique, et ce de façon régulière jusqu'à la valeur finale d'équilibre.
