La présente invention concerne un procédé d'isolation et d'étanchéification de toitures. Procédé caractérisé en ce qu'il consiste essentiellement a enduire ledit support (2) avec une composition liquide ou visqueuse (3) à base de bitume modifié ou d'un mélange bitume/polyuréthane, en enrobant les aspérités (4) et en remplissant les creux ou cavités (4') débouchants présentes à la surface dudit support (2), puis à appliquer ladite couche isolante (1) ou les éléments discrets destinés à former ladite couche isolante (1) sur la surface enduite dudit support (2) avant solidification de la couche d'enduit (3) appliquée préalablement, ladite couche d'enduit (3) formant, après séchage au polymérisation, barrière à la vapeur d'eau et agent d'adhérence de la couche isolante (1) sur ledit support de fixation (2), et enfin à appliquer sur la couche isolante (1) un revêtement d'étanchéité (6).
