A method for sterilizing at least one item in a chamber, comprising the steps of: disposing the at least one item in the chamber; pumping the atmosphere from the chamber until the atmosphere of the chamber has a pressure of less than ten torr; adding water vapor and ozone to the chamber; and generating electrical discharge in the chamber, such that the electrical discharge produces OH radicals from the water vapor and the ozone so as to contribute to sterilization of at least part of the at least one item.

L'invention concerne un procédé pour stériliser au moins un article dans une chambre, comprenant les étapes suivantes : disposition de l'article dans la chambre ; pompage de l'atmosphère de la chambre jusqu'à ce que la chambre présente une pression inférieure à 10 torr ; ajout de vapeur d'eau et d'ozone dans la chambre ; et production de décharge électrique dans la chambre, de sorte que la décharge électrique produise des radicaux OH à partir de la vapeur d'eau et de l'ozone, de façon à contribuer à la stérilisation d'au moins une partie de l'article.
