An under-water aeration system for water-borne craft such as power boats, sail boats, and larger vessels, for purposes of reducing both friction and form drag, incorporates underwater aeration compartments that are segregated, whereby changes of attitude of the craft permit only limited loss of the aeration. The system operates primarily by way of naturally induced air flow, including utilization of ram air due to the speed of the craft, and air velocity components from the wind. It will be understood that, while maximum use is made of naturally aspirated aeration, the present invention does not exclude alternative sources of air or gases.
