ABSTRACT A device for the removal of solids from slurries by continuous compaction in a screen chamber. Pressure of liquid in the chamber causes continuous extrusion of a dewatered solid from an open ended chamber. The walls of the chamber may be constructed from longitudinal wedge bars spaced apart to provide filtering spaces between them. An auxiliary pump may be used to provide high pressure compaction.
