Methods and apparatus for content protection in a wireless network. A method is provided for operating a protection system to protect an application from unauthorized distribution, wherein the application will fail to operate on a device that is outside a predetermined operating region. The method includes associating a geographic identifier with the application, wherein the geographic identifier identifies the predetermined operating region, and downloading the application and the geographic identifier to the device. The method also includes receiving a request to execute the application on the device, wherein the request includes the geographic identifier, and determining a device location. The method also includes comparing the device location with the predetermined operating region identified by the geographic identifier, and preventing the application from executing when the device is outside the predetermined operating region.
L'invention concerne des procédés et un appareil destinés à la protection de contenus dans un réseau sans fil. Un procédé permet de faire fonctionner un système de protection permettant d'empêcher la distribution non autorisée d'une application, l'application ne fonctionnant pas dans un dispositif situé en dehors d'une zone de fonctionnement prédéterminée. Ce procédé consiste à associer un identificateur géographique à l'application, cet identificateur géographique identifiant la zone de fonctionnement prédéterminée, et à télécharger au dispositif l'application et l'identificateur géographique. Ce procédé consiste également à recevoir une demande pour exécuter l'application sur le dispositif, cette demande contenant l'identificateur géographique, et à déterminer la localisation du dispositif. Ce procédé consiste enfin à comparer la localisation du dispositif et la zone de fonctionnement prédéterminée identifiée par l'identificateur géographique, et à empêcher l'exécution de l'application si le dispositif se trouve en dehors de la zone de fonctionnement prédéterminée.
