A method for decorating a vitreous substrate with a radiation curable ink composition, comprising applying an ink composition comprised of an N-vinyl lactam to the glass in a predetermined design, the ink being operable when cured to bond to the vitreous substrate, curing the ink on the vitreous substrate by exposing it to the radiation by which it is curable, thereby bonding the ink composition to the substrate; and a method for decorating a vitreous substrate with hot stamping foil comprising applying an ink composition comprised of an N-vinyl lactam to the glass in a predetermined design, the ink being operable when cured to bond to the vitreous substrate, curing the ink on the vitreous substrate by exposing it to the radiation by which it is curable, thereby bonding the ink composition to the substrate, pressing a sheet of hot stamping foil against the substrate with a die heated to a temperature sufficient to cause a portion of the hot stamping foil to adhere to the heated, cured, ink design but not to the ink free areas of the vitreous substrate, removing the die, thereby leaving behind a portion of the foil adhered to the ink design but not to the ink-free areas of the glass.
L'invention concerne un procédé de décoration d'un substrat vitreux avec une composition d'encre capable de sécher par rayonnement, le procédé consistant: à appliquer une composition d'encre comprenant un N-vinyl lactame sur le verre dans une configuration prédéterminée, l'encre pouvant se fixer, une fois séchée, sur le substrat vitreux; à faire sécher l'encre sur le substrat vitreux en l'exposant au rayonnement destiné à le sécher, ce qui permet de fixer la composition d'encre au substrat. L'invention concerne également un procédé de décoration d'un substrat vitreux avec une feuille de marquage à chaud, le procédé consistant: à appliquer une composition d'encre comprenant un N-vinyl lactame sur le verre dans une configuration prédéterminée, l'encre pouvant se fixer, une fois séchée, sur le substrat vitreux; à faire sécher l'encre sur le substrat vitreux en l'exposant au rayonnement destiné à le sécher, ce qui permet de fixer la composition d'encre au substrat; à presser une feuille de marquage à chaud contre le substrat avec un moule chauffé à une température suffisante pour provoquer l'adhérence d'une partie de la feuille de marquage à chaud au motif d'encre chauffé et séché, mais non aux zones sans encre du substrat vitreux; puis à retirer le moule, laissant une partie de la feuille adhérant au motif d'encre mais non aux zones sans encre du verre.
