An apparatus for manufacturing cable including a cage strander for rotation about a line axis. Bobbins are supported by the cage strander and arranged for dispensing round conductors downstream thereof for receiving the conductors and forming them into a plurality of complementary segmented pre-shaped wires each having a desired cross-sectional profile in a final compact conductor and each defining at least lateral surfaces. The formed conductors are positioned and oriented to substantially correspond to the positions and orientations between such wires in the final twisted compact conductor. A first drive means rotates the forming apparatus and a second drive drives the forming apparatus. These driving means are synchronized to allow the formed conductors to be closed about the core causing the lateral surfaces of adjacent pre-shaped wires to substantially abut each other and produce a cable wherein the interstices between the wires forming the twisted conductor are substantially eliminated.
Cette invention se rapporte à un appareil de fabrication de câbles qui utilise une toronneuse à cage en rotation autour d'un axe linéaire. Des bobines sont soutenues par la toronneuse à cage et disposées de façon à distribuer des conducteurs ronds vers l'aval, de façon à recevoir les conducteurs et à les grouper en plusieurs fils préfaçonnés segmentés complémentaires ayant chacun un profil de section transversale souhaité dans un conducteur compact final et définissant chacun au moins des surfaces latérales. Les conducteurs ainsi formés sont placés et orientés de façon à correspondre essentiellement aux positions et aux orientations entre ces fils dans le conducteur compact torsadé final. Un premier moyen d'entraînement met en rotation l'appareil de formation et un second moyen d'entraînement entraîne l'appareil de formation. Ces moyens d'entraînement sont synchronisés pour permettre aux conducteurs ainsi formés de se fermer autour du noyau, pour que les surfaces latérales des fils préfaçonnés adjacents viennent essentiellement en about les unes contres les autres et produisent ainsi un câble dans lequel les interstices entre les fils formant le conducteur torsadé sont pour ainsi dire éliminés.
