A nozzle for injection moulding has a heater (5) to keep the moulding material in a substantially molten state. The nozzle has a highly heat conductive insert (4) extending almost fully through its length. An insulating gap is provided between the insert (4) and the outer body (9) of the nozzle, the insulating gap extending completely to the outlet (24) of the nozzle. The nozzle is adapted for retrofitting to older existing injection moulds, and has an annular channel around the outer body forming a neck, to reduce the rate of heat transfer from the heated nozzle to the cooler mould.
