A non-stick treated valve (10) includes a pair of cooperating elastomeric surfaces (16) positioned to engage each other to control flow of fluid through the valve. A non-stick coating depicted by stippling on a surface (36) is applied to the cooperating surfaces (16) to facilitate separation of the surfaces (16) from each other. The non-stick coating is in the form of an oily substance such as a fluid lubricant for forming a film coating on the surfaces (16). In addition, the coating material is formed of a material which is dissimilar from the material forming the cooperating surfaces (16).
