Method and means far delivery of drugs to the optic nerve head and the region surrounding it which comprises contacting the surface of the eye with an effective amount of a drug for treatment of said nerve head and a physiologically acceptable prostaglandin or prostaglandin derivative for enhancing delivery of the drug to the nerve head, in an opththalmologically acceptable carrier.

L'invention se rapporte à un dispositif et à un procédé visant à administrer des médicaments sur la papille du nerf optique et sa région environnante. Ce procédé consiste à mettre la surface de l'oeil en contact avec une dose efficace d'un médicament utilisé dans le traitement de la papille optique et d'une prostaglandine physiologiquement acceptable ou d'un dérivé de prostaglandine, et permet ainsi d'améliorer l'administration du médicament sur la papille optique, celui-ci étant incorporé dans un excipient pharmaceutiquement acceptable.
