A tag that can be mounted to or within an article has means for sensing one or more conditions associated with the article, such as temperature, shock, radiation or atmosphere. The tag also includes power means such as a thin film battery, transducer means, data storage means, and means for transmitting data or information to a suitable receiver. The tag will accompany the article in transit or in storage and be able to inform an interested party of conditions experienced by the article. The tag can be programmed to sense conditions at specific time intervals, making use of an internal clock. The clock, data storage means, transducer means and transmission means can all be part of a thin film integrated circuit incorporated on the tag.
La présente invention concerne une étiquette qui peut être montée sur un article ou être intégrée à un article et qui comporte un moyen de détection d'une ou de plusieurs conditions associées audit article, telles que la température, un choc, le rayonnement ou une atmosphère. L'étiquette peut également comporter un moyen générateur de puissance tel qu'une batterie à film mince, un moyen transducteur, un moyen de stockage des données et un moyen de transmission de données ou d'informations à un récepteur adapté. L'étiquette doit accompagner l'article en situation de transit ou de stockage et doit permettre d'informer une partie intéressée des conditions subies par ledit article. L'étiquette peut être programmée pour détecter des conditions à des intervalles de temps spécifiques, une horloge interne étant alors utilisée. L'horloge, le moyen de stockage des données, le moyen transducteur et le moyen de transmission peuvent tous faire partie d'un circuit intégré à film mince incorporé à l'étiquette.
