Streamlined initiation of a call transfer within a cellular telephone network (10) is effectuated by having the transfer-to C-number request (212) include not only an identification of the B-number (B) for the called mobile station (14(1)), but also an identification number (MSCID) of a switching node (12) presently handling the call. Responsive to receipt of this request, the home location register (20) processes the B-number to identify one or more C- numbers for forwarding of the call. The home location register then determines which switching nodes currently serve the identified C-numbers and directly generates a routing request message (2 to 14), including the received present switching node identification number, to each of those switching nodes. This action bypasses the conventional TIA IS-41 signaling actions of returning (114) the identified C-numbers to the present switching node and generating a location request message (116) for delivery back to the home location register.
Afin de simplifier l'initialisation d'un transfert d'appel dans un réseau téléphonique cellulaire (10), la demande (212) de transfert vers un numéro C comprend non seulement une identification du numéro B (B) pour la station mobile appelée (14(1)), mais aussi un numéro d'identification (MSCID) du noeud de commutation (12) qui traite actuellement l'appel. En réponse à la réception de cette demande, l'enregistreur de localisation nominal (20) traite le numéro B, de façon à identifier un ou plusieurs numéros C pour réacheminer l'appel. L'enregistreur de localisation nominal détermine ensuite quels noeuds de commutation desservent actuellement les numéros C identifiés et génère directement un message de demande d'acheminement (214), qui comporte le numéro d'identification du noeud de commutation actuel reçu, destiné à chacun desdits noeuds de commutation. Cette action évite les actions de signalisation TIA IS-41 classiques consistant à retourner (114) les numéros C identifiés au noeud de commutation actuel et à générer un message de demande de localisation (116) destiné à être renvoyé à l'enregistreur de localisation nominal.
