A method of bonding a first and a second web material (2, 3) to each other, wherein the two web materials are brought together in the area to be bonded and thermal energy or ultrasonic energy is applied to at least one of the web materials in the area to be bonded. In order to improve the bonding strength an additional material (28) that is non-tacky at a temperature of 2O~C is applied to at least one of the web materials in at least a part of the area to be bonded prior to bringing the two web material (2, 3) together. In one aspect the web materials are components of a personal care absorbent article.
L'invention concerne un procédé de liaison d'une première et d'une seconde bandes de matériau (2, 3) l'une avec l'autre, les deux bandes de matériau étant mise en contact au niveau de la zone à lier et une énergie thermique ou ultrasonique étant appliquée à au moins une des bandes de matériau dans la zone à lier. Afin d'améliorer la force de la liaison, un matériau supplémentaire (28) qui est non collant à une température de 20 °C est appliqué sur au moins une des bandes de matériau au moins dans une partie de la zone à lier avant de mettre en contact les deux bandes de matériau (2, 3). Selon un aspect de l'invention, les bandes de matériau sont des composants d'un article absorbant d'hygiène personnelle.
