A treadmill (10) having a motorized treadbase (12) and a folding handrail (14) folding with respect to the treadbase such that the treadmill (10) achieves a low profile when the handrail (14) is in a folded position. The treadmill (10) includes: (i) a treadbase (12), the treadbase comprising first and second rollers and an endless belt movably trained about the first and second rollers; (ii) a motor coupled to the treadbase, the motor also being movably coupled to the first roller such that the motor selectively turns the first roller, thereby causing the belt to move; and (iii) a handrail pivotally coupled to the treadbase, the handrail selectively folding with respect to the treadbase. In a preferred embodiment, the treadmill is less than about 8 inches in height when the handrail is in a folded position.
L'invention concerne un tapis roulant (10) comprenant une base motorisée (12) et un dispositif d'appui pliable (14) se pliant par rapport à cette base de façon que le tapis roulant (10) présente une dimension réduite lorsque le dispositif d'appui (14) se trouve dans une position pliée. Ce tapis roulant (10) comporte (i) une base (12), cette base comprenant un premier et un second rouleau ainsi qu'une courroie sans fin entraînée de manière mobile autour desdits premier et second rouleaux, (ii) un moteur relié à la base, ce moteur étant également relié mobile au premier rouleau de manière à le faire tourner de manière sélective, d'où une mise en mouvement de la courroie, et (iii) un dispositif d'appui relié pivotant à la base, ce dispositif d'appui se pliant sélectivement par rapport à ladite base. Dans un mode de réalisation préféré, ce tapis roulant présente une hauteur inférieure à 8 pouces lorsque le dispositif d'appui est plié.
