A shale containment unit for a drilling rig which includes a skid having a first side, a second side, a first end and a second end. An end wall extends entirely across the first end of the skid. A pair of parallel sidewalls extend from the first end of the skid at least partially along the first side and the second side. A floor is secured to the end wall and sidewalls. A liquid retaining dike transversely extends between the sidewalls. The dike has a top ridge with a first slope sloping downwardly toward the first end of the skid from the top ridge to the floor. A second slope slopes downwardly from the top ridge toward the second end of the skid.
L'invention vise un ouvrage de confinement de formation schisteuse pour installation de forage, constitué d'une palette comportant un premier et un deuxième côtés ainsi qu'une première et une deuxième extrémités, une paroi se prolongeant au droit de la première extrémité, une paire de parois parallèles se prolongeant au moins partiellement le long du premier et du deuxième côtés, à partir de la première extrémité, un plancher fixé à la paroi d'extrémité et aux parois latérales, une cuvette de retenue disposée entre les deux parois latérales et comportant une saillie en sommet, en pente descendant vers le plancher, d'une part, du côté de la première extrémité de la palette, et d'autre part, du côté de la deuxième extrémité de cette dernière.
