With tools used in the past and present for removing individual dandelions or weeds it is necessary for the person to bend down to dig out the weed by hand and discard it, requiring several back breaking manouvers. In this invention it is only necessary for the person (operator) to push a cutting blade at the end of a long handle into the earth about two (2) inches in front of the weed and then squeeze the smaller inner handle upwards which results in the lower clamping arm securing the weed tightly against the cutting blade. The tool is then withdrawn from the earth with the weed intact and the end of the tool tapped lightly over a wheelbarrow or other container to dislodge the weed after releasing pressure at the small inner handle. As the operator becomes more familiar with the tool it is possible to collect several weeds before discarding them in the container.
