Disclosed is a method for producing a fuel cell catalyst which is not corroded in an acidic electrolyte or at high potentials, while having excellent durability and high oxygen-reducing ability. The method for producing a fuel cell catalyst is characterized by comprising a step (I) wherein a carbonitride of a transition metal is heated in an inert gas containing oxygen, and a step (II) wherein the product obtained in the step (I) is heated in an inert gas which substantially contains no oxygen.

L'invention porte sur un procédé de préparation d'un catalyseur pour pile à combustible qui n'est pas corrodé dans un électrolyte acide ou à des potentiels élevés, tout en ayant une excellente durabilité et une capacité de réduction d'oxygène élevée. Le procédé de préparation d'un catalyseur pour pile à combustible est caractérisé en ce qu'il comprend une étape (I) dans laquelle un carbonitrure d'un métal de transition est chauffé dans un gaz inerte contenant de l'oxygène, et une étape (II) dans laquelle le produit obtenu dans l'étape (I) est chauffé dans un gaz inerte qui ne contient sensiblement pas d'oxygène.
