The invention concerns a self-penetrating drilling method and a thrust-generating tool: the tool (1) comprises N blades (2a, 2b, 2c, 2d). Each blade comprises K drill bits (3a, 3b, 3c, 3d). The shapes, positions and orientations of said drill bits are determined in the following manner: the k?th¿ drill bit of the last blade drills, at the (q-1)?th¿ of the tool rotational cycle, a cut in the rock downstream of the one produced by the (k+1)?th¿ drill bit of the first blade at the q?th¿ rotational cycle of the tool; the k?th¿ drill bit of the n?th¿ blade drills, at the q?th ¿rotational cycle of the tool, a cut in the rock downstream of the one produced by the k?th¿ drill bit of the (n+1)?th¿ blade at the q?th¿ rotational cycle of the tool; the normal to the leading edge of the drill bit has a component along the axis of rotation oriented towards upstream.

L'invention concerne un procédé de forage auto-pénétrant et un outil générateur de poussée: l'outil (1) comprend N lames (2a, 2b, 2c, 2d). Chaque lame comporte K taillants (3a, 3b, 3c, 3d). Les géométries, les positions et les orientations desdits taillants sont déterminées de la façon suivante: - le kième taillant de la dernière lame creuse, au (q-1)ième tour de rotation de l'outil, une saignée dans la roche en aval de celle réalisée par le (k+1)ième taillant de la première lame au qième tour de rotation de l'outil, - le kième taillant de la nième lame creuse, au qième tour de rotation de l'outil, une saignée dans la roche en aval de celle réalisée par le kième taillant de la (n+1)ième lame au qième tour de rotation de l'outil, - la normale à la face d'attaque du taillant a une composante selon l'axe de rotation orientée vers l'amont.
