Improved Sediment Collector and Separator for Drainage Systems In a drainage system of the type typically employed with domestic sinks and laundry tubs, this invention consists of a transparent container affixed to a drainage system such that the liquid com- ponent of the discharge into the drain will finally exit via the drain system while solid material entering the drain will come to rest in a transparent container. The accumulated material in the transparent container will thereby be observable at will and can thus be removed when deemed necessary. The use of a second sep- arate container utilising a screen in conjunction with this inv- ention will permit the entrapment and easy recovery of valuable objects such as jewellery or contact lenses which may enter the system, without resort to dismantling of the system. Finally, solid material removal from the system may be effected without the use of any tools.
