The present invention provides an isolated human mannosyl transferase and the encoding nucleic acid. Nucleic acids and fragments thereof that correspond to the mannosyl transferase polypeptide similarly are applicable in therapeutic procedures. The invention also provides a human mannosyl transferase fusion polypeptide and a chromosome 9 fusion polypeptide, both of which result from a chromosomal 10 translocation t(9,11) (p24;q23.1) .The fusion nucleic acid sequence that encodes the human mannosyl transferase fusion polypeptide and the fusion nucleic acid sequence that encodes the chromosome 9 fusion polypeptide also are provided. The fusion proteins of the invention and their encoding nucleic acids are useful in methods provided by the present invention for diagnosing or predicting the susceptibility to bipolar disorder.
La présente invention concerne une mannosyl-transférase humaine ainsi que l'acide nucléique la codant. Lesdits acides nucléiques et leurs fragments correspondant au polypeptide de mannosyl-transférase de façon similaire sont applicables dans des procédures thérapeutiques. L'invention concerne en outre le polypeptide de fusion mannosyl-transférase ainsi qu'un polypeptide de fusion de chromosome 9, tous deux résultant d'une translocation chromosomique t (9, 11) (p24 ; q23.1.). L'invention concerne en outre la séquence de fusion de l'acide nucléique codant le polypeptide de fusion de mannosyl-transférase et la séquence de fusion de l'acide nucléique codant le polypeptide de fusion du chromosome 9. Les protéines de fusion de ladite invention ainsi que leurs acides nucléiques les codant sont utiles dans des méthodes de diagnostic et de prévision de la susceptibilité à des troubles bipolaires, spécifiées dans la présente invention.
