A CDMA mobile communication system determines the number of input information bits (5 bit) and the number of symbols to be punctured, and encodes/decodes the input information bits (5bits). A transmitter encodes the input information bits into 16 coded symbols with a first order Reed-Muller code, and punctures four coded symbols from the 16 coded symbols so as to generate a codeword having the minimum distance. A receiver then receives punctured coded symbols, i.e., the codeword, and inserts zero (0) bits at the punctured positions. Further, the receiver calculates reliabilities between the zero-inserted coded symbols with all of first order Reed-Muller codewords, and outputs input information bits for the coded symbols corresponding to the highest reliability.

L'invention concerne un système de communication mobile AMRC permettant de déterminer le nombre de bits d'informations d'entrée (5 bits) et de symboles à perforer et de coder/décoder les bits d'informations d'entrée (5 bits). Dans ce système, un émetteur code les bits d'informations d'entrée en 16 symboles codés avec un code de Reed-Muller du premier ordre et perfore quatre symboles codés des 16 symboles codés pour générer un mot codé possédant la distance minimale. Un récepteur reçoit ensuite les symboles codés perforés, c'est-à-dire le mot codé, et insère des bits zéro (0) aux positions perforées. Par ailleurs, le récepteur calcule la fiabilité entre les symboles codés avec insertion de zéro et tous les mots codés de Reed-Muller du premier ordre et génère des bits d'informations d'entrée pour les symboles codés correspondant à la plus grande fiabilité.
