A flat trapezoidal container provides a generally frustoconical bag with a single cavity when at least partially filled with a pulverulent material such as soil which may have a live plant growing therein, or comestible goods such as popcornand other snacks which rely heavily upon spur-of-the-moment purchases by a cus- tomer who must first be visually attracted to the goods, thereafter be visually convinced of their freshness, and have the opportunity to smell and/or touch thegoods prior to purchasing them. The container may also be specifically dimensioned to snugly sheath a flower pot so as to leave therebeneath, a surplus of film in an empty transition zone which is concealable under the flower pot. The container is made from two flat panels of heat-sealable film, each shaped as a trapezium; or from a single web folded double. The lower portion of the container is ornamentally imprinted along a border extending beneath a generally lateral line above the longi- tudinal axis of the web, to identify the contents and simulate them in their optimum condition to enhance their marketability; and, with a marker in the upper portion, quantifies the volume of the goods contained, or provides instructions for their use. When the cavity is distended by being partially filled, the entire container, except for a transition zone, presents a smoothly arcuate surface of the frustum of a cone. The lower exterior portion is continuously printed with ornamental images of thecontents, or images evocative thereof, without an interruption in the printing, such as is present as an elongated blank rectangle in prior art bags. The transparentupper portion is free from an elongated portion of the printed image near the edges, as in prior art bags. A method is disclosed for forming the printed container which method requires discarding the material for one bag for each bag made by thermally sealing the equally, but oppositely angulated sides of the trapeziums, and the shorter of the remaining parallel sides.
Cette invention concerne un contenant trapézoïdal plat qui se transforme en sac monocompartiment de forme généralement tronconique à être rempli au moins en partie de matière pulvérulente, du terreau ensemencé par exemple, ou de produits comestibles tels que du maïs soufflé ou autres amuse-gueule. Ce sac est idéal pour le conditionnement de produits que la clientèle achète par impulsion, encouragée par l'attrait visuel, l'impression visuelle de fraîcheur et la possibilité de sentir ou de toucher le produit. Le contenant peut également être dimensionné pour servir de cache-pot, l'excédent de matériau pouvant être replié de façon à être caché sous le pot. Le contenant est réalisé à partir de deux feuilles de pellicule thermoscellable, chacune de forme trapézoïdale, ou à partir d'une feuille repliée sur elle-même. La partie inférieure du contenant est imprimée de motifs ornementaux à partir d'une bordure délimitée par une ligne généralement transversale espacée de l'axe longitudinal de la feuille, l'imprimé servant à identifier le contenu et à le représenter sous un jour optimal rehaussant sa vendabilité. La partie supérieure du contenant porte une bande-étiquette renseignant sur la quantité de produit contenu dans le sac ou donnant le mode d'emploi du produit. Lorsque le sac est partiellement rempli, il présente, sauf dans une partie dite de transition, une surface à courbure uniforme comme celle d'un cône tronqué. La face extérieure inférieure du sac porte une série ininterrompue d'images idéalisées ou évocatrices du contenu, contrairement aux sacs décoratifs existants qui présentent un blanc rectangulaire allongé. La partie supérieure transparente ne comporte pas de portion allongée d'image près des rives, contrairement aux sacs décoratifs existants. L'invention propose également une méthode de fabrication du contenant imprimé qui prévoit la découpe de chaque unité après thermoscellage de ses côtés et du fond.
