A surgical system for penetrating tissue includes an obturator having an obturator housing and an obturator member extending from the obturator housing and having a penetrating member adapted to penetrate tissue. The penetrating member defines an outer wall with an irregular surface dimensioned to facilitate passage through tissue. The obturator may further include a stylet at least partially disposed within the obturator member. The stylet and the obturator member are adapted for relative longitudinal movement between a first relative position corresponding to an unarmed condition of the penetrating member and a second relative position corresponding to an armed condition of the penetrating member.

L'invention concerne un système chirurgical conçu pour pénétrer un tissu, qui comporte un obturateur doté d'un boîtier et d'un élément d'obturateur s'étendant du boîtier de l'obturateur et possède un élément pénétrant conçu pour pénétrer le tissu. Ledit élément pénétrant définit une paroi externe présentant une surface irrégulière dont les dimensions facilitent la traversée du tissu. L'obturateur peut en outre comporter un stylet placé au moins partiellement dans l'élément d'obturateur. Le stylet et l'élément d'obturateur sont conçus pour un mouvement relatif dans le sens de la longueur entre une première position relative correspondant à un état non armé de l'élément pénétrant et une seconde position relative correspondant à un état armé de l'élément pénétrant.
