A printed circuit board inspection device includes a lighting system for use with the series of cameras associated with the printed circuit board inspection device which is essentially domed in configuration, and which incorporates a plurality of selectively controllable light emitting diodes for developing desired lighting patterns. The light emitting diodes are arranged within the domed fixture to form an array of defined latitudes and longitudes, and are capable of selective activation to develop the particular lighting patterns which are desired. This permits an acquisition of images useful in developing a "topographical display" of the acquired image, which is useful in enhancing the subsequent inspections which are to be performed.
Cette invention concerne un appareil d'inspection de cartes à circuits imprimés qui comprend un système d'éclairage et une série de caméras et qui se présente essentiellement sous la forme d'un dôme. L'éclairage est assuré par une série de diodes électroluminescentes à commande sélective permettant de modifier l'éclairement de la carte de façon à en mettre en relief les caractéristiques de surface. Les diodes sont réparties à l'intérieur du dôme de façon à matérialiser une série de sources ponctuelles de latitude et de longitude prédéterminées; elles peuvent être allumées de façon sélective pour donner le type d'éclairage souhaité pour l'acquisition d'images utiles dans la préparation d'une "représentation topographique" propre à améliorer les inspections à être menées par la suite.
