The present invention relates to the use of proteins that are differentially expressed in primary brain tumor tissues, as compared to normal brain tissues, as biomolecular targets for brain tumor treatment therapies. Specifically, the present invention relates to the use of immunotherapeutic and immunoimaging agents which specifically bind to one or more of the identified brain tumor protein targets. The present invention also provides compounds and pharmaceutically acceptable compositions for administration in the methods of the invention. The present invention also provides novel splice variants of protein PTP , PTP SM1 and PTP SM2. Nucleic acid probes specific for the spliced mRNA encoding these variants and affinity reagents specific for the novel proteins are also provided.

L'invention concerne l'utilisation de protéines exprimées de manière différentielle dans des tissus de tumeurs cérébrales primaires, en comparaison à des tissus cérébraux normaux, comme cibles biomoléculaires dans des thérapies de traitement de tumeurs cérébrales. Plus précisément, l'invention concerne l'utilisation d'agents d'immunothérapie et d'immunoimagerie qui se lient spécifiquement à au moins une cible de protéine de tumeur cérébrale identifiée. L'invention concerne également des composés et des compositions pharmaceutiquement acceptables à administrer lors des procédés concernés. Elle concerne en outre de nouveaux variants d'épissage de la protéine PTP.zeta., PTP.zeta.SM1 et PTP.zeta.SM2. Elle concerne enfin des sondes d'acides nucléiques propres à l'ARNm épissé codant ces variants et des réactifs d'affinité propres aux nouvelles protéines.
