The invention relates to a method for picking up sound consisting of the following steps: providing at least two essentially omnidirectional microphones (1a, 1b, 1c) or membranes (9a, 9b) which have a mutual distance (d) shorter than a typical wave length of the sound wave; combining these microphones (1a, 1b, 1c) or membranes (9a, 9b) to obtain directional signals (F(t), R(t)) depending on the direction (3) of sound; processing the directional signals (F(t), R(t)) to modify the directional pattern of the signals.

L'invention concerne un procédé d'enregistrement de son comprenant les étapes suivantes : on prend au moins deux microphones (1a, 1b, 1c) ou membranes (9a, 9b) omnidirectionnels séparés mutuellement par une distance (d) inférieure à une longueur d'onde caractéristique de l'onde sonore, et on combine ces microphones (1a, 1b, 1c) ou ces membranes (9a, 9b) de manière à obtenir des signaux (F(t), R(t)) directionnels dépendant de la direction (3) du son, puis on traite les signaux (F(t), R(t)) directionnels afin de modifier les caractéristiques directionnelles des signaux.
