A surgical fastener apparatus having a handle, an elongated shaft having a proximal end attached to the handle and a distal end extending therefrom. An end effector including a pair of jaws pivoted at a proximal end thereof and movable between an open and closed position. A cartridge containing a plurality of surgical fasteners, the cartridge attached to the end effector. An electrically powered actuator for deploying the surgical fasteners, the actuator including a power source and a motor. Means for electrically adjusting the amount of spacing be-tween the jaws when the end effector is in the closed position.
La présente invention concerne un appareil de type agrafeuse chirurgicale comportant un manche, un axe allongé comportant une extrémité proximale fixée au manche et une extrémité distale se prolongeant au-delà, un effecteur terminal comportant, au niveau de son extrémité proximale, une paire de mâchoires pivotantes pouvant passer d'une position ouverte à une position fermée et inversement, une cartouche contenant une pluralité d'agrafes chirurgicales, ladite cartouche étant fixée à l'effecteur terminal, un actionneur électrique permettant la mise en place des agrafes chirurgicales, ledit actionneur comportant une alimentation électrique et un moteur et, enfin, un moyen permettant d'ajuster électriquement l'espacement entre les mâchoires lorsque l'effecteur terminal est en position fermée.
