A portable collection device (10) is adapted to be mounted to a shopping cart (18). The device (10) includes a housing (12) having a clamping assembly for releasably clamping the housing (12) to a pushing bar of a shopping cart (18). The housing (12) defines an interior region supporting device electronics. The device (10) further includes an interactive touch sensitive visual display screen (14) and a retractable, tethered dataform reader (22) releasably mounted on the housing (12). When mounted on the housing (12), an imaging assembly and an illumination assembly of the reader (22) are continuously actuated to read a dataform (30) presented to the reader (22). When removed from the housing (12), the reader (22) is actuated by depressing a trigger on the reader (22). The device (10) also includes a magnetic stripe reading assembly and communications circuitry including a radio transceiver module.
L'invention a trait à un dispositif (10) portable de collecte de données conçu pour être monté sur un caddie (18). Ce dispositif (10) comprend un boîtier (12) comportant un ensemble pinçage permettant d'accrocher ledit boîtier (12) à la barre (18) servant à pousser le caddie, ou de le décrocher de celle-ci. Le boîtier (12) définit un emplacement interne contenant des éléments électroniques du dispositif. Le dispositif (10) comprend en outre un écran de visualisation (14) interactif à effleurement, et est couplé à un lecteur (22) de fiches de données monté rétractable dans le boîtier. Lorsque celui-ci est monté sur le boîtier (12), un ensemble image et un ensemble éclairage dont est doté le lecteur (22) se déclenchent en continu pour permettre la lecture d'une fiche de données (30) présentée au lecteur. Lorsque le lecteur (22) n'est pas couplé au boîtier (12), il peut être enclenché par pression d'une commande située sur le lecteur (22). Le dispositif (10) comprend également un ensemble lecteur de piste magnétique et des circuits de communications comportant un module émetteur-récepteur radio.
