An electrical sleeve heater has a tubular outer wall and a heating coil inside the outer wall. An outer sleeve inside the heating coil formed with an axially throughgoing slot having angularly confronting edges is made of a material having a high coefficient of thermal expansion. An inner sleeve inside the outer sleeve is formed with an axially throughgoing slot and with outwardly projecting lips engaged through the outer-sleeve slot bearing angularly on the outer-sleeve slot edges. It is made of a material having a low coefficient of thermal expansion so that when the sleeves are heated the outer-sleeve edges press the inner-sleeve lips together and thereby decrease the radial inner diameter of the inner sleeve.
Dispositif de chauffage électrique à manchon comportant une paroi extérieure tubulaire et un serpentin de chauffage à l'intérieur de cette paroi. Un manchon extérieur à l'intérieur du serpentin chauffant comportant une fente traversante dans le sens axial, dont les bords sont à angles opposés, est constitué d'un matériau à coefficient élevé de dilatation thermique. Un manchon intérieur dans le manchon extérieur comporte une fente traversante dans le sens axial et des lèvres faisant saillie vers l'extérieur engagées à travers la fente du manchon extérieur appuyant selon un angle sur les bords de la fente du manchon extérieur. Il est fabriqué d'un matériau à faible coefficient de dilatation thermique pour que, lorsque les manchons sont chauffés, les bords du manchon extérieur compriment les lèvres intérieures ensemble et diminuent ainsi le diamètre du manchon intérieur.
