A hair clip (1) including two mutually pivotable comb-like elements (2) normally held in a closed position by a resilient member (7) is disclosed. The prongs (4a, 4b) of one comb-like element (2) are located opposite the prongs (4a, 4b) of the other comb-like element (2). One prong (4a) in each pair of facing prongs (4a, 4b) has at least one opening (8) into which the other prong (4b) is inserted when the two elements (2) are in fully or partially closed.
