To address the need for reducing call setup time without degrading the originator's service, a RAN (103) transmits a channel assignment message in a paging slot monitored by a target unit (113). The target unit responds to this channel assignment page indicating its availability and location within the RAN coverage area. The RAN then indicates the availability of the target unit to the calling unit (120) that originated the service request. In this way, the originator is able to proceed with the communication service, while the target completes its call setup.
De manière à réduire le temps d'établissement d'appel sans pour autant dégrader le service de l'appelant, un réseau d'accès radio (RAN) (103) envoie un message d'attribution de canal dans une intervalle de temps de téléappel contrôlée par une unité cible (113). Cette unité cible répond à cette page d'attribution de canal en indiquant sa disponibilité et sa situation à l'intérieur d'une zone de couverture d'un réseau d'accès radio. Ce réseau d'accès radio indique alors la disponibilité d'une unité cible par rapport à l'unité d'appel (120) qui a demandé le service. Dans ce sens, l'appelant peut donner suite au service de communication, pendant que la cible finit l'établissement de communication.
