A process for the desulfurization of hydrocarbonaceous oil wherein the hydrocarbonaceous oil is contacted with a hydrodesulfurization catalyst in a hydrodesulfurization reaction zone (3) to reduce the sulfur level to a relatively low level then contacting the resulting hydrocarbonaceous stream from the hydrodesulfurization zone with an oxidizing agent (8) to convert the residual, low level of sulfur compounds into sulfur-oxidated compounds. The resulting hydrocarbonaceous oil stream containing the sulfur-oxidated compounds is separated after decomposing any residual oxidizing agent by contacting the stream with an adsorbent material (18, 30) to adsorb the sulfur- oxidated compounds to produce a hydrocarbonaceous oil stream having a reduced concentration of sulfur-oxidated compounds. The spent adsorbent (18, 30) is regenerated and subsequently returned to adsorbent service.
La présente invention a trait à un procédé de désulfuration d'huile hydrocarbonée comprenant la mise en contact de l'huile hydrocarbonée avec un catalyseur de désulfuration dans une zone de réaction de désulfuration (3) en vue de réduire le niveau de soufre à un niveau relativement faible, suivie de la mise en contact du flux hydrocarboné dérivé de la zone de désulfuration avec un oxydant (8) en vue de la conversion des composés de soufre résiduel de faible niveau en des composés de soufre oxydé. Le flux d'huile hydrocarbonée obtenu contenant les composés de soufre oxydé est séparé suite à la décomposition de tout oxydant résiduel par la mise en contact du flux avec un matériau adsorbant (18, 30) en vue de l'adsorption des composés de soufre oxydé pour produire un flux d'huile hydrocarbonée présentant une concentration réduite de composés de soufre oxydé. L'adsorbant usé (18, 30) est régénéré et ultérieurement recyclé pour l'opération d'adsorption.
