A permanent magnet brushless 3-phase motor comprises windings R, Y, B, each divided into a plurality of sections 1-5 and switch means S1-S12 for selectively connecting the section of the respective winding e.g. R in series and/or parallel with all other sections of that winding R. Control means are provided for actuating the switch means S1-S12 to connect the winding sections 1-5 in different configurations whilst the motor is running to alter the speed/torque characteristics of the motor.

L'invention concerne un moteur triphasé à aimants permanents sans balais, comportant des enroulements (R, Y, B) divisés en une pluralité de sections (1-5), et des éléments de commutation (S1-S12) destinés à connecter sélectivement la section de l'enroulement respectif (par ex. R) en série et/ou en parallèle à toutes les autres sections de l'enroulement (R). Des éléments de commande servent à actionner les éléments de commutation (S1-S12) de manière que ceux-ci connectent les sections d'enroulement (1-5) dans différentes configurations lorsque le moteur tourne, afin de modifier les caractéristiques de régime/couple du moteur.
