In the wood flake molding process and apparatus of the present, the punch (22) for forming holes (24) in the part (14) includes a tapered upper portion (32) to facilitate mold release, but a cylindrical lower portion (34) for forming a hole (24) of consistent dimensions in parts (14) of varying thicknesses. The tapered upper portion (32) is configured to extend sufficiently far into molded wood flake part (14) to facilitate withdrawal of the punch (22) from the hole (24) formed therein. The cylindrical lower portion (34) is sufficiently long that regardless of variations in part thickness, the bottom opening (46) in the hole in each part (14) formed will have the same radius, defined by the cylindrical lower portion (34).
L'invention porte sur un procédé et un appareil de moulage de copeaux de bois. Le poinçon (22) servant à former des trous (24) dans la pièce (14) comporte une partie supérieure (32) conique facilitant le démoulage, et une partie inférieure cylindrique pour former dans les différentes pièces des trous de dimensions constantes, quelque soit l'épaisseur des pièces. La partie conique (32) s'étend suffisamment loin dans la pièce (14) de copeaux moulés pour permettre un retrait facile du poinçon du trou (24) y étant formé. La partie cylindrique (34) est suffisamment longue pour qu'indépendamment des variations d'épaisseur de la pièce l'ouverture (46) au niveau de la base des trous dans chacune des pièces moulées présente le même diamètre délimité par la partie cylindrique du poinçon.
