An apparatus and an associated method that facilitates improved buffering during a flow control event in a network that provides for a push function. A buffer timer is provided that coordinates a buffer in a PDSN (packet data serving node) with a second timer value. The second timer value comprises a retry timer value associated with a push function. Coordination of the buffer timer is provided by sending a control message from the push function, or from a mobile station, to a PDSN, (packet data serving node). The control message includes the timer retry value or a mobile timer value. The buffer timer is set in the PDSN to discard packets that are older than the retry timer value or mobile timer value during a flow control event.
La présente invention concerne un appareil et un procédé associé qui facilitent l'amélioration d'une mise en mémoire tampon lors d'un évènement de contrôle de flux dans un réseau qui fournit une fonction push. Un minuteur de tampon coordonne un tampon dans un PDSN (nAEud serveur de données par paquet) avec une seconde valeur de minuteur. La seconde valeur de minuteur se compose d'une valeur de relance du minuteur associée à une fonction push. La coordination du minuteur tampon est fournie en envoyant à un PDSN (noeud serveur de données par paquet) un message de contrôle à partir de la fonction push ou à partir d'une station mobile. Le message de contrôle comprend la valeur de relance du minuteur ou une valeur du minuteur mobile. Le minuteur tampon est configuré dans le PDSN pour se débarasser des paquets qui sont plus anciens que la valeur de relance du minuteur ou que la valeur du minuteur mobile lors d'un évènement de contrôle de flux.
