A system for assessing subjects for inadequate visual attention capa- bilities presents a sequence of display screens to the subject on a conven- tional computer monitor ( 16). The dis- play screens include a foveal target (26) and a peripheral target (30), and may additionally include distractor el- ements (34) around the peripheral tar- get. The display time for the display is varied either as a function of the re- sponses of the subject or in a prepro- grammed manner. The responses are evaluated for accuracy, and are then used to generate a measurement which is used to assess the subject for ade- quate visual attention capabilities.
Dans un système d'évaluation de la capacité d'attention visuelle d'un sujet, on présente audit sujet une séquence d'images-écran sur un moniteur d'ordinateur classique (16). Les images-écran incluent une cible fovéale (26) et une cible périphérique (30) et peuvent en outre comprendre des éléments distracteurs (34) autour de la cible périphérique. L'affichage de l'heure pour la présentation est différencié soit par rapport aux réponses du sujet, soit d'une manière préprogrammée. Les réponses sont évaluées pour en vérifier l'exactitude, puis utilisées pour établir une mesure servant à déterminer si le sujet possède une capacité d'attention visuelle correcte.
