A filter for filtering a fluid comprises an inlet end and an outlet end, a distensible member extending longitudinally of the housing, and a plurality of fibres extending longitudinally of the housing and being secured at the inlet end. When the distensible member is distended, the fibres are compressed to form a graduated filter matrix. An additional filter medium is introduced into the inlet end and becomes trapped in the fibres for further filtration of the fluid.

L'invention porte sur un filtre destiné à filtrer un fluide et comprenant une extrémité d'admission et une extrémité d'évacuation, un élément gonflable s'étendant le long du corps et une pluralité de fibres s'étendant également le long du corps et fixées à l'extrémité d'admission.
