The present invention provides a method of treating a vessel in a human or animal body, with method including the steps of: preparing a patient; identifying a site in said vessel requiring treatment; positioning an implantable device against a portion of tubular or sac wall of said vessel at said site, whereby load applied to said vessel is borne by said wall (80) and said device, said vessel being assisted by said device (410) when said wall and said device acts upon said load, said device including an energy storage means (112) which is charged with a pressure or energy charge by means of said load being applied to said vessel. The present invention further provides a treatment or assistance device for operating in or with a tubular or wall sac of a vessel in a human or animal body, said device including a changeable volume portion which is adapted to interact with said vessel so as to modify the volume of said vessel; and an energy storage means (112) functioning with said changeable volume portion (24) whereby a decrease in the volume of said changeable volume portion creates a pressure or energy change in said energy storage means, said pressure or energy change being able to be subsequently released to cause said changeable volume portion to increase in volume.
La présente invention concerne une méthode de traitement d'un vaisseau d'un humain ou d'un animal. Ladite méthode consiste à préparer un patient, à identifier un site dans ledit vaisseau nécessitant un traitement, à positionner un dispositif implantable contre une partie de la paroi tubulaire ou membranaire dudit vaisseau au niveau dudit site, une charge appliquée sur ledit vaisseau étant portée par ladite paroi (80) et ledit dispositif. Ledit vaisseau est assisté par ledit dispositif (410) lorsque ladite paroi et ledit dispositif agissent sur ladite charge, ledit dispositif comprenant un moyen (112) de stockage d'énergie chargé de pression ou d'énergie par ladite charge appliquée sur ledit vaisseau. La présente invention concerne également un traitement ou un dispositif d'assistance destinés à être utilisés dans ou avec la paroi tubulaire ou membranaire d'un vaisseau d'un humain ou d'un animal, ledit dispositif comprenant un élément à variation de volume adapté pour interagir avec ledit vaisseau de manière à modifier le volume dudit vaisseau, et un moyen (112) de stockage d'énergie fonctionnant avec ledit élément (24) à variation de volume. Une réduction du volume de l'élément à variation de volume crée ainsi un changement de pression ou d'énergie dans ledit moyen de stockage d'énergie, ce changement de pression ou d'énergie pouvant être ensuite libéré de manière à provoquer l'augmentation de volume de l'élément à variation de volume.
