A process for the production of polyacetylene derivatives by which polyacetylene derivatives having an ability to discriminate asymmetry can be easily obtained in a few steps and in high yield and which is also advantageous in respects of economical efficiency, environmental problems, and so on. This process is characterized by polymerizing an acetylene derivative having a hydrophilic functional group in an aqueous solvent in the presence of a water-soluble transition metal complex catalyst and a base.

L'invention concerne un procédé de production de dérivés de polyacétylène, par lequel des dérivés de polyacétylène, que l'on peut différencier en fonction de leur asymétrie, peuvent être obtenus facilement en peu d'étapes et avec un rendement élevé. Ces dérivés sont également avantageux en ce qui concerne l'efficacité économique, les problèmes environnementaux et similaires. Ce procédé est caractérisé par la polymérisation d'un dérivé d'acétylène possédant un groupe fonctionnel hydrophile dans un solvant aqueux, en présence d'un catalyseur à complexe de métal de transition hydrosoluble et d'une base.
