2050311 9010433 PCTABS00002 A preparation meant to be used in the oral cavity with the purpose to prevent or reduce the emission of mercury and mercury vapour from amalgam fillings in teeth. According to the invention the preparation contains sulphur in free form, especially in the percentages between 0.1 and 0.01 weight % and with particle sizes between 0.05 and 0.01 mm. In one embodiment the preparation, besides sulphur, also contains a grinding or polishing substance. In other embodiments the preparation is a toothpaste, a chewing gum, a mouth wash water or a mouth spray, a cooling liquid for dental tools or a dental varnish with a congealing or curing binding agent or adhesive.
