A sealing plug for blind installation in a suitable hole thereby to plug and seal the hole, which sealing plug comprises a sleeve (1) having one end closed, a stem (2) having a head (4) at least part of which is radially enlarged with respect to the remainder of the stem, the stem head being within the sleeve and the stem protruding from the open end of the sleeve by passing through a part of the sleeve which has an internal cross-sectional dimension less than that of the stem head, the stem head having a shoulder (8), and there being an abutment of sleeve material against at least the radially outer part of the shoulder, the stem head being of a material which is harder than that of the sleeve and being formed with a weakened portion at a position intermediate the head and the part of the stem remote therefrom, whereby, when the sealing plug is inserted in a suitable hole, with the sleeve entirely within the hole, and increasing tension force is applied to the stem with respect to the sleeve, axial compression is applied by the shoulder to engage with the hole, and thereafter the stem breaks at the weakened portion (3) so that the head remains within the sleeve.
L'invention concerne un bouchon mâle convenant pour une mise en place à l'aveugle dans un orifice adéquat, et permettant de boucher et de sceller cet orifice. Ce bouchon comprend un corps (1) présentant une extrémité fermée, une tige (2) comprenant une tête (4) dont une partie au moins est élargie dans le sens radial par rapport au reste de la tige. La tête de la tige est placée dans le corps et la tige dépasse par l'extrémité ouverte du corps en traversant une portion du corps dont la section transversale est inférieure à celle de la tête de la tige. La tête de la tige comprend un épaulement (8), et le matériau du corps vient buter au moins contre la partie située radialement à l'extérieur de cet épaulement. La tête de la tige est formée d'un matériau plus dur que le corps et comprend une portion frangible située dans un point intermédiaire entre la tête et la portion de tige opposée à la tête. Lorsqu'on introduit ce bouchon dans un orifice adéquat, en faisant entrer entièrement le corps dans l'orifice et qu'on applique une force de tension progressive sur la tige relativement au corps, une compression axiale est appliquée par l'épaulement et pousse de bouchon contre l'orifice, après quoi la tige se rompt au niveau de la portion (3) frangible de sorte que la tête reste dans le corps.
