MASSIVELY PARALLEL MULTIPROCESSOR SYSTEM WITH FAULT-TOLERANT INTERPROCESSOR NETWORK ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A massively parallel processor is constructed from a large number of individual processor units connected, first, to form a plurality of processor sections containing one or more of the processor units interconnected for data communication by a redundant bus structure. In turn, the processor sections are then interconnected in a torroidal configuration to form an array of rows and columns in which each processor section is coupled to four immediate neighbor processor sections by dual communication paths, thereby providing at least two separate paths for communicating data from any one processor unit to any other processor unit. Each processor unit includes separate input/output bus structure which can be used to interconnect processor section arrays in a third dimension for expansion.
