To generate a high-power modulated radio frequency (RF) signal (SOUT) from an input low or medium frequency information signal (SIN) the information signal is pulse-shaped in a quantifier (108) to form a digital signal (SD) having discrete signal values. The digital signal is processed in a switching unit (106) comprising switches (SW1, SW2, ..., SWM) for each signal value, radio frequency wave generators (210) for each switch generating carrier waves of radio frequency, and control circuits (216) for each switch to control the opening and closing thereof. When a switch is closed, its associated generator is connected to the output line of the switching unit, and when it is opened, the generator is disconnected therefrom. In the switching unit a switched radio frequency signal (SSW) carrying the information of the input signal is formed by opening and closing the switches when the digital signal adopts or does not adopt respectively the signal value associated with the respective switch. The switching is thus controlled by the signal values of the digital signal. The switched signal on the output line of the switching unit is filtered by a filter (208) for achieving the high-power modulated RF signal (SOUT).
Afin de générer un signal (S¿OUT?) radiofréquence (RF) modulé, haute puissance, à partir d'un signal d'information moyenne ou basse fréquence en entrée (S¿IN?), ledit signal d'information est mis sous forme d'impulsions dans un quantificateur (108) aux fins d'obtention d'un signal numérique (S¿D?) ayant des valeurs discrètes. Ce signal numérique est traité dans une unité de commutation (106) comportant des commutateurs (SW1, SW2, ..., SWM) pour chaque valeur du signal, des générateurs (210) d'ondes radiofréquence associés à chaque commutateur et générant des ondes porteuses de fréquence radio, et des circuits de commande (216) associés à chaque commutateur et permettant de commander l'ouverture et la fermeture des commutateurs. Lorsqu'un commutateur est fermé, son générateur associé est connecté à la ligne de sortie de l'unité de commutation et lorsqu'il est ouvert, le générateur en est déconnecté. Dans l'unité de commutation, un signal radiofréquence commuté (S¿SW?) transportant l'information du signal d'entrée est formé par ouverture et fermeture des commutateurs lorsque le signal numérique prend ou ne prend pas respectivement la valeur de signal associée au commutateur respectif. La commutation est alors commandée par les valeurs du signal numérique. Le signal commuté sur la ligne de sortie de l'unité de commutation est filtrée par un filtre (208) aux fins d'obtention du signal RF modulé haute puissance (S¿OUT?).
